Bank nifty futures tips - Today, Asian shares went down early, as investors digest the data releases that could give a gauge on the state of China's economy. China's consumer price index (CPI) rose 2 per-cent in August month from a year earlier, beating estimations for a 1.8 per-cent gain and up from 1.6 per-cent in July month.

Food prices have been increasing so CPI will see a slight hike, but if you look at energy [and] housing costs, they are still quite low so overall the inflation environment in China is still quite weak.

Overnight, major US averages closed the day down more than 1 per-cent, failing to expand a rally over worldwide markets on the back of selling pressure in Apple and energy-related counters. The blue-chip Dow and the S&P 500 lost 1.45 and 1.35 per-cent, respectively, while the Nasdaq Composite locked down 1.15 per-cent.
