ECONOMY ANALYSIS

MARKET ANALYSIS

  • The S&P BSE Sensex extended its winning streak for second straight session and closed above 22,700 after hitting all-time high in trade today.
  • The 30-share index ended at 22,746.11, up 117.27 points or 0.52 per cent. It touched all-time high of 22,795.58 and a low of 22,636.75 in trade today.
  • The Nifty ended at 6,810.75, up 31.35 points or 0.46 per cent. It touched an all-time high of 6,825.45 and a low of 6,786.90 in trade today.
  • The S&P BSE Midcap Index was up 0.73 per cent and the S&P BSE Smallcap Index gained 1.39 per cent.
  • Among the sectoral indices, the S&P BSE Capital goods Index surged 2.78 per cent, the S&P BSE Bankex advanced 1.28 per cent and the S&P BSE Metal Index gained 1.86 per cent.
  • The S&P BSE FMCG Index was down 0.50 per cent, the S&P BSE IT Index declined 0.74 per cent and the S&P BSE Realty Index slipped 0.42 per cent.
  • The foreign institutional investors bought shares worth Rs 433.4 crore while domestic institutional investors were net sellers worth Rs 122.75 crore on Thursday as per the provisional data from the National Stock Exchange.
