MARKET ANALYSIS
After a failed attempt of a pull-back towards the end of session, the Nifty closed on a flat-to-negative note above 6,300 level. The benchmark is likely to consolidate in near term as it is facing stiff resistance at the higher end of the trading range.
The 50-share index ended at 6,316.20, down 4.70 points or 0.07 per cent. It touched a high of 6,346.50 and a low of 6,299.85 in trade today.
The S&P BSE Sensex was at 21,244.21, down 45.28 points or 0.21 per cent. It touched a high of 21,379.29 and a low of 21,199.65 in trade today.
Shares of HCL Technologies hit life-time high in early trade after the company's net profit and margins beat analysts expectation. Brokerages continue to maintain their 'bullish' view on the stock and are likely revise theirn view after earnings call is over.
The foreign institutional investors bought shares worth Rs 713.29 crore while domestic institutional investors were net sellers worth Rs 690.02 crore on Wednesday as per the provisional data from the National Stock Exchange.
